Everything you should know when making an appointment
Referrals
For each new patient, a VALID referral is very important. A referral can be obtained from your GP or other health specialists. Please fax your referral, email or send it electronically via HealthLink to Specialists on Eastwood.
Once your referral has been received, the specialist will triage your referral and reception staff will contact you to make an appointment within the next business day.
Urgency
If you require an urgent appointment, please ask your referring doctor to indicate this request on your referral or to contact our receptionist to discuss your case over the phone.
Your appointment
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your initial appointment to fill out any necessary paperwork.
What to bring
- Your referral letter
- Any relevant X-rays and scans
- Any relevant blood test results if available
- List of medications
- Medicare card (pensioner or DVA card if applicable)
- Your private health insurance card (please note that private health insurers do not provide a rebate for outpatient consultations)
Payment
You can make payment on the day of appointment via a number of methods, including:
- Cash
- EFTPOS
- Visa or MasterCard
Our friendly admin team can lodge your claim to Medicare for any eligible rebate. Please ensure your referral is current and that your bank account is registered with Medicare for this to occur.
Cancellations and no-shows
We understand that things can happen unexpectedly at short notice, which is why early communication is important. We respectfully request at least 24 hours notice if possible.
Repeated cancellations of scheduled appointments may incur a fee.
Car park
We are located within the vicinity of Eastwood Private Hospital at 204 Greenhill Road, Eastwood 5063. There will be ample onsite car parks available. Please enter off Greenhill Road, there is a driveway on the right-hand (western) side of the building. You may be dropped off or park at the rear of the building. You then may enter the hospital from the rear sliding doors on the left on the Ground Floor and present to the reception. Take the main lift to Level 2 to enter the clinic.
